The Bureau operates rehabilitation centres throughout Sri Lanka, providing healthcare, counselling, vocational training, and rehabilitation services.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

• Be a Sri Lankan citizen.
• Be between 18 and 45 years of age (maximum age limit does not apply to eligible internal applicants).
• Possess a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 5 or above in a healthcare-related field from a vocational training institution recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC).
• Internal applicants should possess the same qualifications required for external applicants.
• Be physically and mentally fit to serve anywhere in Sri Lanka.
• Maintain excellent character and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide primary healthcare and first aid services to rehabilitees when required.
• Conduct basic medical assessments and provide preliminary treatment before referring patients to a medical officer when necessary.
• Refer patients requiring further medical treatment to the nearest hospital based on medical advice.
• Monitor the health condition of rehabilitees during emergency situations and assist in providing treatment under medical supervision.
• Assist the Medical Officer during clinical duties and patient examinations.
• Promote nutrition and health awareness among rehabilitees.
• Coordinate treatment arrangements with external hospitals and healthcare providers.
• Assist in organizing medical clinics and healthcare programmes.
• Maintain accurate medical records, registers, and healthcare documentation.
• Support rehabilitees with special healthcare needs in their daily activities.
• Maintain adequate stocks of medicines and medical supplies as instructed by the Medical Officer.
• Ensure the medical centre is kept clean, organized, and operational.
• Educate rehabilitees on communicable and non-communicable disease prevention and conduct follow-up activities.

Salary & Benefits

• Permanent Government Salary Scale: MA 2-2 – 2025
• Basic Salary:
  • LKR 46,960.00 (2026)
  • LKR 50,540.00 (2027)
• Monthly Cost of Living Allowance: LKR 17,800
• Annual government salary increments as applicable.
