The Bureau of Rehabilitation is a government institution responsible for implementing rehabilitation programmes and supporting the successful reintegration of rehabilitees into society. The Bureau operates rehabilitation centres and administrative offices throughout Sri Lanka, requiring well-maintained utility services, including water supply and plumbing systems.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

• Be a Sri Lankan citizen.
• Be between 18 and 45 years of age (maximum age limit does not apply to eligible internal applicants).
• External applicants must possess a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 4 or above in Plumbing or a related field from a vocational training institution recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC).
• Internal applicants should either:
  • Possess the above qualification; or
  • Have at least five (5) years of experience in the plumbing field together with a Trade Test and NVQ Level 2 or above as specified in the recruitment requirements.
• Be physically and mentally fit to serve anywhere in Sri Lanka.
• Maintain excellent character and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, repair, and maintain plumbing systems within Bureau facilities.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of water supply systems.
• Inspect and maintain water pumps, water sources, and related pumping equipment.
• Ensure plumbing repairs are completed using appropriate materials and according to required standards.
• Monitor the condition of water distribution systems and respond promptly to maintenance issues.
• Support uninterrupted water supply services across rehabilitation centres and administrative buildings.

Required Skills

• Plumbing installation and maintenance skills.
• Knowledge of water supply systems and water pump operations.
• Ability to diagnose and repair plumbing faults.
• Familiarity with plumbing tools, fittings, and materials.
• Preventive maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to work safely and independently.
• Strong attention to quality and workplace safety.

Salary & Benefits

• Permanent Government Salary Scale: PL 3 – 2025
• Basic Salary:
  • LKR 40,834.00 (2026)
  • LKR 43,280.00 (2027)
• Monthly Cost of Living Allowance: LKR 17,800
• Annual government salary increments as applicable.
