Qualifications & Experience

External Candidates

Applicants should possess:

• A Certificate of Proficiency not below National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 5.
• The qualification should be issued by a Technical or Vocational Training Institute accepted by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC).
• The qualification should be in the Civil Engineering field.

Internal Candidates

• Applicants should possess the qualifications required for external candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise civil engineering and maintenance activities within the saltern.
• Inspect buildings, infrastructure, and civil works to ensure operational efficiency.
• Assist in planning and implementing construction and maintenance projects.
• Monitor contractors and ensure compliance with engineering specifications.
• Prepare technical reports, maintenance records, and project documentation.
• Ensure adherence to workplace safety standards and government regulations.
• Coordinate with engineering teams to improve operational performance.
• Perform additional technical duties assigned by management.

Required Skills

• Sound knowledge of Civil Engineering principles and practices.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good organizational and project coordination abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical documentation.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.

Salary & Benefits

• Salary Scale: MA 2-1 – 2025
• Salary Range: Rs. 50,540 – 87,710
• Salary Increments: 10 × 540 – 7 × 630 – 4 × 890 – 20 × 1,190
• Cost of Living Allowance: Rs. 17,800
• Other Government-approved allowances.
• Starting Salary for 2026: Rs. 46,960.
