Company Overview

The National Research Council is a statutory government funding agency established under Parliament Act No. 11 of 2016 and operates under the Ministry of Science & Technology. The Council promotes scientific research and innovation by providing financial assistance and support to researchers and public sector institutions across Sri Lanka.

Qualifications & Experience

External Candidates

Applicants must possess one of the following:

• A Special Degree in a relevant field such as:
  • Science
  • Medicine
  • Engineering
  • Agriculture
  • Economics
  • Statistics
  • ICT / Computer Science
  • Information Technology
  • Computer Engineering
  • Any other relevant field recognized by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka

OR

• A General Degree in one of the above disciplines together with a Postgraduate Diploma in a relevant field.

Age Limit

• Not less than 22 years and not more than 45 years.
• The upper age limit will not apply to internal candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor research grants and related activities.
• Publish and disseminate grant information and research opportunities.
• Maintain research databases and records.
• Conduct statistical analysis and data management activities.
• Prepare reports and documentation for the Council.
• Coordinate meetings, seminars, workshops, and research-related events.
• Support research administration and project implementation.
• Assist in monitoring funded research programs and initiatives.
• Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of research activities.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Excellent report writing and documentation abilities.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis and data management.
• Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
• Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proficiency in computer applications and database management.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a professional environment.

Salary & Benefits

• Monthly Salary: Rs. 99,470
  • Basic Salary: Rs. 81,675
  • Cost of Living Allowance: Rs. 17,800

Additional benefits will be provided in accordance with National Research Council policies and applicable government regulations.
