Job Overview
The National STD/AIDS Control Programme (NSACP) under the Ministry of Health is seeking a dedicated Office Assistant to support administrative and operational activities under the Global Fund HIV Component Project. The selected candidate will assist in office administration, document handling, communication, and day-to-day office operations.

Company Overview
The Global Fund HIV Component Project is implemented by the Ministry of Health and supports HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis prevention and control activities throughout Sri Lanka. The programme is funded through grants awarded by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria for the period 2025–2027.
Qualifications & Experience
Educational Qualifications
- Passed G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination in six subjects at one sitting with Credit Passes in:
- Sinhala/Tamil/English Language
- Mathematics
- Two other subjects
- Passed G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination at one sitting.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum one year of prior experience in a similar position.
- Ability to work independently and handle confidential information.
- High level of personal discipline, honesty, and integrity.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Pleasant personality with good public relations skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver documents and files to the Ministry of Health and other relevant organizations.
- Maintain office cleanliness and organization.
- Maintain stationery records and registers.
- Receive and dispatch mail and fax communications.
- Maintain incoming and outgoing mail registers.
- Scan, photocopy, and organize documents.
- Answer telephone calls and facilitate communication.
- File and maintain office documents.
- Post letters and settle utility or office bills on time.
- Welcome visitors and arrange refreshments when required.
- Open and close the office daily.
- Perform additional duties assigned by management.

- Ability to multitask and work independently.

Salary & Benefits
- Salary according to Public Administration Circular No. 02/2026.
- Service Code: PL1 – Grade III.
- Monthly salary: Rs. 75,532 (as at 28.03.2026).
- EPF Contributions:
- Employer: 12%
- Employee: 8%
- ETF Contribution:
- Employer: 3%
General Conditions
- Duty station is Colombo, with possible travel to project implementation sites around the country.
- Applicants should be below 64 years of age as at 31 December 2026.
- Recruitment is on a contract basis.
- Contract period runs up to the end of 2027, subject to a three-month probation period.
