The National Research Council (NRC) of Sri Lanka, operating under the Ministry of Science & Technology, is inviting applications from qualified Sri Lankan citizens for the position of Assistant Director (Scientific Affairs Coordinator). Company Overview
The National Research Council is a statutory government funding agency established under Parliament Act No. 11 of 2016. The NRC promotes and supports research by public sector scientists through financial assistance programs and various national research initiatives. The Council plays a key role in advancing scientific innovation and research development in Sri Lanka.
Qualifications & Experience
External Candidates
Applicants must possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a field of Science recognized by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka.
AND
- A minimum of three (03) years post-qualifying experience relevant to the post after obtaining the first degree, gained in a government institution, government board, or a reputed private-sector organization.
Internal Candidates
Applicants must possess:
- The qualifications required for external candidates.
Age Limit
- Not less than 22 years and not more than 45 years.
- The upper age limit does not apply to internal candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide scientific and strategic management support.
- Oversee research grants and research-related programs.
- Prepare reports and coordinate with stakeholders.
- Support policy implementation and monitoring activities.
- Manage scientific databases and related documentation.
- Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in planning and institutional development activities.
- Coordinate government, academic, and research sector engagements.
- Perform assigned organizational and administrative duties.
Required Skills
- Strong scientific and analytical capabilities.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Effective stakeholder coordination and communication skills.
- Experience in grant management and research administration.
- Strong reporting and documentation abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Sound knowledge of compliance and monitoring procedures.
- Proficiency in computer applications and database management.
Salary & Benefits
- Monthly Salary: Rs. 99,510
- Basic Salary: Rs. 81,710
- Cost of Living Allowance: Rs. 17,800
Additional benefits will be provided in accordance with National Research Council policies and applicable government regulations.
