Company Overview

The National Water Supply & Drainage Board (NWSDB) is the principal government institution responsible for providing safe drinking water and sanitation services throughout Sri Lanka. Through large-scale development projects such as the Anuradhapura North Water Supply Project – Phase II, the Board continues to improve water accessibility and infrastructure development across the country.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants must satisfy one of the following qualification pathways:

Option 1

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in the relevant field.

OR

• National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 7 Certificate issued by a Technical/Vocational Training Institute accepted by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC) in the relevant technical field.

AND

• Minimum 2 years of experience in the relevant area of specialization.

Option 2

• National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 6 Certificate issued by a Technical/Vocational Training Institute accepted by TVEC in the relevant technical field.

AND

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the relevant area of specialization.

Option 3

• National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 5 Certificate issued by a Technical/Vocational Training Institute accepted by TVEC in the relevant technical field.

AND

• Minimum 8 years of experience in the relevant area of specialization.

Special Note

For Engineering Degree holders, the qualification should be:

• BSc Engineering Degree (4 years) awarded by a university approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and recognized by the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL) as meeting the educational requirements for Associate Membership.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in electrical engineering activities related to the water supply project.
• Support installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical systems.
• Monitor project-related electrical works and ensure compliance with technical standards.
• Assist project engineers with inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Maintain technical records and reports.
• Ensure workplace safety and adherence to project specifications.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Support smooth execution of project activities.

Salary & Benefits

Salary Scale: Category F (Technical Officer I) as per Management Services Department Circular 02/2026

Monthly Salary: Rs. 150,000 + Cost of Living Allowance (COL)
