Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree recognized by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka in one of the following or a related field:
  • Social Work
  • Sociology
  • Psychology
  • Criminology
  • Child Development
  • Human Development
  • Counselling
  • Social Sciences
• Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
• Must possess an excellent character and be physically and mentally fit for the duties of the post.
• Applicants should satisfy the prescribed age limits mentioned in the recruitment notice.
• Candidates must meet all eligibility requirements as of 30 July 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide probation and rehabilitation services.
• Protect and promote the welfare of children under care.
• Conduct social investigations and prepare reports.
• Offer counselling and guidance to children and families.
• Monitor rehabilitation programmes and community-based interventions.
• Coordinate with courts, government agencies, and social service organizations.
• Maintain official records and case documentation.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Department.
