The Institute of Chemistry Ceylon is the successor to the Chemical Society of Ceylon, established in 1941, and was founded in 1971 to promote the advancement of chemistry and chemical sciences in Sri Lanka. Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Full qualification in ICASL, CIMA, or ACCA.
• A Degree in Finance, Accountancy, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Minimum of five (05) years of experience in a similar Internal Auditor or auditing role.
• Experience in private higher educational institutions or the private service sector will be an added advantage.
• Good knowledge of accounting software packages, preferably QuickBooks (QB).
• Sound IT knowledge with experience in computerized accounting systems.
• Experience in handling corporate tax matters.
• Experience in preparing financial accounts and organizational budgets.
• Excellent supervisory, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct internal audits and evaluate financial controls.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.
• Review financial records and identify operational risks.
• Prepare audit findings and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist in corporate tax compliance and financial reporting.
• Monitor budgeting processes and financial performance.
• Support continuous improvement of internal control systems.
• Maintain accurate audit documentation and reports.
• Work closely with management to strengthen governance and accountability.
