Job Overview
The U.S. Embassy in Colombo is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Facility Management Assistant in the Facility Management Office. This is a temporary, full-time position open exclusively to U.S. Citizen Eligible Family Members (USEFMs). The role supports the maintenance, inspection, and repair of Embassy buildings, equipment, and residences while coordinating with customers, technicians, and contractors.

- Promotion: Employees hired at FP-08 become eligible for promotion to FP-07 after 52 weeks of successful performance.

- Security Clearance: Secret/Confidential Clearance required.
Company Overview
The U.S. Embassy in Sri Lanka is recruiting a Facility Management Assistant to support facility operations and maintenance across Embassy offices and government-owned or leased residences. Applications are reviewed every two weeks until the position is filled.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Schedule and conduct routine inspections of Embassy buildings, equipment, and residences.
- Assess maintenance, alteration, and repair requirements.
- Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Assist with small facility management projects.
- Monitor work progress and ensure maintenance quality.
- Meet with customers, technicians, contractors, and foremen to clarify work requirements.
- Coordinate labour and material requirements.
- Support and escort contractors working on small repair projects.
- Escort personnel within Controlled Access Areas (CAA) of the Embassy and government-owned or leased residences.
Education Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Completion of secondary school.
Experience Requirements
Applicants must possess:
- FP-07: Minimum 2 years of customer service work experience.
- FP-08 (Training Grade): Minimum 1 year of customer service work experience.
Language Requirements
- Good working knowledge of English (speaking, reading, and writing).
Security Requirements
Selected applicants must:
- Successfully obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Complete a background investigation before appointment.
