Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

• Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
• Must have been a permanent resident of the Western Province for at least three (03) consecutive years immediately before the application closing date.
• Must possess a good character.
• Must be physically and mentally fit to perform security duties.
• Should have passed six (06) subjects at the G.C.E. Ordinary Level (O/L) Examination, including at least two (02) Credit passes, in not more than two sittings.
• Age should be not less than 18 years and not more than 45 years.

Physical Qualifications

Male Applicants

• Minimum height: 5 feet 3 inches (5’3″)
• Minimum chest measurement: 32 inches upon exhalation

Female Applicants

• Minimum height: 5 feet 2 inches (5’2″)
• Every applicant must be physically and mentally fit to serve as a Security Guard and perform assigned duties efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Protect Colombo Municipal Council buildings, offices, and public properties.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and visitor access.
• Conduct routine security patrols of assigned premises.
• Prevent unauthorized access and report suspicious activities.
• Maintain security logs and incident reports.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and security incidents.
• Assist in maintaining public order within municipal premises.
• Perform other security-related duties assigned by supervising officers.

• Excellent discipline and punctuality.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to respond calmly during emergencies.
• Basic report writing and record-keeping skills.

Important Notes

• Examination Fee: Rs. 500.00 (payment details should be included in the application).
• Selection will be based on a Written Examination, Physical Measurement Test, and Structured Interview.
• The written examination consists of:
  • Basic Sports Knowledge / General Knowledge – 2 Hours
  • Aptitude Test – 1 Hour
• Only candidates who successfully qualify in the height and chest measurement test will be called for the structured interview.
• Separate applications must be submitted if applying for more than one position.
• Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
• All required educational and other qualifications must be fulfilled on or before the application closing date.
