Qualifications & Experience

Applicants must satisfy the following requirements:

• Passed the G.C.E. Ordinary Level (O/L) Examination in six subjects in not more than two sittings, including passes in:
  • Sinhala / Tamil / English Language or Literature
  • Arithmetic / Commercial Arithmetic / Mathematics

Additionally, applicants must possess either of the following:

• Practical Farm School Certificate or an equivalent qualification with 10 years of experience in a State Organization after obtaining the certificate.

OR

• School of Agriculture Diploma (Peradeniya or Kundasale) or an equivalent qualification with 5 years of experience after obtaining the diploma.
• Applicants must be not more than 45 years of age at the closing date of applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily farm operations and agricultural activities.
• Coordinate farm maintenance and cultivation work.
• Ensure efficient utilization of farm resources and equipment.
• Monitor agricultural production and farm management activities.
• Maintain farm records and operational documentation.
• Assist in implementing agricultural best practices.
• Supervise farm workers and support agricultural training activities.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the University management.

• Practical knowledge of agricultural and farm management practices.
• Leadership and supervisory skills.
• Good organizational and planning abilities.
• Record keeping and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary & Benefits

• Salary Scale: U-MT 1 (III) – Rs. 51,095 – 7 × 540; 10 × 640 – Rs. 60,575 per month (effective from 01.01.2027).
