Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geography with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) as a major subject from a university or institution recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Professional Qualifications

• Professional qualifications in Geographic Information Systems or a related field will be considered an added advantage.

Experience

• Experience in the GIS field will be considered an additional qualification.

Other Requirements

• Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
• Must be of excellent character.
• Should be physically fit and willing to serve in any part of the island.
• Age Limit: Minimum 21 years and Maximum 35 years as at the closing date.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications.
• Manage and analyze spatial and geographic datasets.
• Support coastal conservation projects through GIS mapping and data analysis.
• Prepare digital maps, geospatial reports, and technical documentation.
• Maintain GIS databases and spatial information systems.
• Assist in environmental monitoring and coastal resource management initiatives.
• Collaborate with technical teams on GIS-based planning and development activities.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
• Proficiency in spatial data analysis and digital mapping.
• Knowledge of GIS software and geospatial database management.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Computer literacy and technical report writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.

Salary & Benefits

• Monthly Salary Scale: Rs. 53,060 – 94,100
