Company Overview

The Department of Coast Conservation and Coastal Resource Management is responsible for conserving Sri Lanka’s coastal environment, managing coastal resources, and implementing sustainable coastal development projects. Survey Assistants play an important role in supporting coastal surveying, mapping, and field operations carried out by the Department across the country.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should possess the following qualifications:

• Passed at least 06 subjects in the G.C.E. Ordinary Level (O/L) Examination with two Distinction passes in not more than two sittings.
• Hold a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 2 Certificate or higher issued by a Technical or Vocational Training Institute recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission in a field relevant to Survey Assistant duties.
• Relevant work experience in surveying or a related field will be considered an added advantage.
• Must be physically fit and willing to serve in any part of Sri Lanka.
• Must be of excellent character.
• Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
• Applicants should be 18 to 45 years of age as of the application closing date.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in land and coastal surveying activities.
• Support survey data collection and field measurements.
• Assist in mapping and maintaining survey records.
• Operate and maintain surveying equipment.
• Work with survey teams during coastal conservation projects.
• Perform assigned technical and field duties related to coastal resource management.
• Maintain accurate survey documentation and reports.

Required Skills

• Basic knowledge of land surveying techniques.
• Ability to operate survey instruments and equipment.
• Good analytical and observation skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Physical fitness for outdoor fieldwork.
• Willingness to work in different parts of Sri Lanka.
• Good organizational and record-keeping skills.

• Monthly Salary Scale: Rs. 41,800 – 65,560
