🎓 Required Qualifications – Project Assistant

🔹 External Applicants

Applicants must satisfy the following educational qualifications:

✅ G.C.E. Ordinary Level (O/L)

• Must have passed 06 subjects in one sitting
• With Credit passes in 04 subjects including Sinhala/Tamil and Mathematics

✅ G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L)

• Must have passed at least 03 subjects (excluding the General Common Test)

✔ Ability to work in English will be considered an additional qualification.

🔹 Internal Applicants

Internal candidates from the Primary Grade (Non-skilled, Semi-skilled, Skilled Service Categories) can apply if they:

• Hold a permanent and confirmed appointment
• Have completed 05 years of continuous satisfactory service
• Meet the required O/L and A/L qualifications

Computer word processing/typing skills and recognized vocational qualifications will be considered advantageous.

🎯 Age Limit

• Must be not less than 22 years and not more than 45 years of age
• The maximum age limit does not apply to internal applicants

📍 Other Requirements

Every applicant must:

✔ Be a permanent resident of the Southern Province for the previous 03 years
✔ Be physically and mentally fit
✔ Be of excellent character

💰 Salary Scale – 2026

The selected candidates will receive a salary according to the following scale:

Rs. 46,220 – 10×540 – 7×630 – 4×890 – 20×1190 – Rs. 83,390

This is an attractive government salary scale under the Southern Provincial Council.

📝 Selection Method – Structured Interview (100 Marks)

Recruitment will be based on a structured interview with marks allocated as follows :

• Relevant experience – 30 marks
• Additional educational qualifications – 30 marks
• Other skills/performance – 15 marks
• Interview performance – 25 marks
• Total – 100 Marks
