Position Details

The Head of Examination Unit will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all examination activities within the college. The role requires strong leadership, extensive experience in educational assessment, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity throughout the examination process.

Zahira College is one of Sri Lanka’s most prestigious educational institutions with a proud history spanning over 133 years. As part of its ongoing institutional development, the college is establishing a dedicated Examination Unit to strengthen academic administration and assessment standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and maintenance of examination papers, ensuring alignment with curriculum and assessment standards.
• Develop the annual examination calendar and coordinate all examination activities.
• Review and analyze examination results to identify areas for improvement in assessment and marking.
• Ensure the security and confidentiality of examination papers and related materials.
• Manage all examination-related documentation and records.
• Ensure compliance with examination regulations, policies, and best practices.
• Lead the administration and coordination of the Examination Unit.
• Monitor and improve examination processes to maintain high academic standards.

Qualifications & Experience

Candidates should possess:

• A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university in Sri Lanka or overseas.
• Supporting qualifications such as a Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Education, particularly in Evaluation and Assessment.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar senior academic or administrative role in a recognized school (local or overseas).
• Overseas training or work experience will be considered an added advantage.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Tamil or Sinhala (trilingual proficiency is preferred).
• Mature, proactive personality, preferably within the 50–55 years age range.
