Job Overview

Independent Television Network Ltd. (ITN), a premier media network in Sri Lanka operating ITN and Vasantham TV channels along with ITN Digital, invites applications from suitably qualified Sri Lankan citizens for the position of Content Creator – Contract.

ITN also operates MMC ITN Campus, dedicated to digital education, and ITN Max, its OTT platform focused on digital entertainment.

Job Description

The selected candidate will be responsible for researching, developing, producing and managing engaging content for television and digital platforms, including:

• News
• Current affairs
• Programmes
• Live events
• Promotional campaigns

The role also involves ensuring compliance with editorial policies, broadcasting regulations and ethical standards.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Content writing and scripting.
• Creative content development.
• Trend and audience analysis.
• SEO optimization.
• Social media backend management.
• Digital content management.
• Implementing content creation strategies in coordination with the Programme and Marketing Divisions.
• Maximising audience reach, engagement and overall content performance.
• Supporting content delivery across digital platforms.

Educational Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

• Passed 03 subjects at G.C.E. A/L Examination, excluding the General Paper.
• Diploma in Digital Media, Digital Marketing and Communication or another subject area relevant to the position.
• Practical application knowledge of Digital Platform Administration and backend management.
• Knowledge of:
  • A/B Testing
  • Digital content creation
  • Content management
  • Digital analytics
  • Content delivery

Practical Test

Shortlisted applicants will be required to undergo a practical test covering:

• Content creation
• Backend management

Candidates who successfully complete the practical test will be shortlisted for the subsequent interview.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong content writing and scripting skills.
• Creative thinking and content development abilities.
• Good understanding of digital media platforms.
• Knowledge of SEO and digital analytics.
• Understanding of social media content management.
• Ability to analyse audience trends and content performance.

Salary & Contract Allowance

All-inclusive Contract Allowance: Rs. 65,000/- per month + commission

Candidates selected for the position will be recruited on a one-year contract, renewable annually based on performance.

Fringe Benefits

Selected candidates will receive:

• 24-hour insurance coverage for accidents.
• Provident Fund contributions of 10% by the employee and 15% by the employer.
• 3% ETF contribution by the employer.
