The Coconut Cultivation Board, under the Ministry of Plantation and Community Infrastructure, invites applications from qualified Sri Lankan citizens for the post of Coconut Development Officer.

Job Details

Position: Coconut Development Officer
Workplace: Islandwide, according to service requirements
Salary Category: MA 2-3
Salary Scale: Rs. 52,700 – (800 × 10) – (1,190 × 11) – (1,320 × 10) – (1,350 × 10) – Rs. 100,490/-

The salary payment method is as per Management Service Department Circular No. 01/2025, with the relevant initial salary payments stated as Rs. 48,784/- from 01.01.2026 and Rs. 52,700/- from 01.01.2027.

Qualifications & Experience

External Candidates

Applicants should possess:

• A National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level Five (05) or higher proficiency certificate related to the relevant sector.
• The qualification should have been obtained from a Technical/Vocational Institute recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC).

Selection

Marks will be awarded at the interview based on the level of the proficiency certificate and vocational qualifications obtained.

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Maximum age: 45 years
• The maximum age limit does not apply to internal applicants.

Other Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
• Possess excellent physical and mental fitness required to perform the duties assigned to the post and serve in any part of Sri Lanka.
• Be of excellent character.

A cost-of-living allowance of Rs. 17,800/- is applicable to this post, subject to the conditions specified in the vacancy notice.

Recruitment Method

Recruitment will be based on the results of a written competitive examination and/or a structured interview conducted by a panel appointed by the appointing authority.
