Qualifications & Experience

• The candidate shall possess a Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized/reputed university in Sri Lanka.

• A minimum of four (4) years of overall professional experience, of which at least three (3) years shall have been served in an executive capacity.

• Diploma or Post graduation in Project Management would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and review project plans, schedules, and work on breakdown structures.

• Coordinate between design and construction teams, subcontractors, and clients.

• Assist in resource planning, including labor, materials, and equipment.

• Interpret engineering drawings, plans, and specifications.

• Ensure construction work complies with design, standards, and local regulations.

• Provide technical advice and resolve engineering issues on-site.

• Monitor daily site activities to ensure that work is progressing as per plan.

• Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to safety protocols.

• Ensure timely completion of work packages and troubleshooting issues as they arise.

• Implement quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) plans.

• Coordinate material testing and inspect workmanship on-site.

• Maintain documentation of inspections, tests, and project progress.

• Assist in preparing cost estimates and project budgets.

• Monitor project expenses and help control project costs.

• Identify variations and support change order processes.

• Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.

• Prepare site logs, as-built drawings, and handover documentation.

• Ensure accurate and up-to-date project records.

• Enforce safety procedures and ensure compliance with HSE regulations.

• Conduct toolbox talks and risk assessments.

• Investigate and report incidents or safety violations.

• Function as a liaison between the client, consultants, contractors, and local authorities.

• Participate in project meetings and communicate updates to stakeholders.

• Coordinate approvals and permits from regulatory bodies.

• Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.

• Monitor progress and proactively address delays or issues.

• Assist in procurement of materials and equipment.

• Ensure timely delivery and proper storage on site.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in handling AutoCAD and other software packages relevant to project planning, designing, and project management.

• Excellent planning and organizational skills, supported by a methodical and detail-oriented approach to work.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.

• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment, effectively managing multiple priorities with confidence and efficiency.

• Strong leadership capabilities, along with proven negotiation, problem-solving, and analytical skills will be advantageous.
