The organization is currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Garment Technician – Sample Room to join its technical operations team in Seeduwa.

Garment Technician – Sample Room

Job Description

The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating garment sample development activities while ensuring customer specifications, fit standards, quality requirements, and production readiness are achieved efficiently. The role requires expertise in garment construction, technical analysis, pattern adjustments, costing, and pre-production coordination within the apparel manufacturing industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and confirm specifications and tech packs according to customer requirements, patterns, and samples.
• Manage sample development processes from Proto stage to PP stage.
• Conduct fit sessions and coordinate pattern adjustments.
• Prepare and confirm OBD and method confirmations.
• Handle garment costing and bulk consumption calculations.
• Lead risk assessment, sample start-up, and bulk production meetings.
• Manage size set approval processes and bulk production readiness.
• Provide value engineering and quality improvement solutions.
• Support specialized processes including:
  • Bonding
  • Laser cutting
  • Screen printing
  • Sublimation printing
• Assist sample room sewing and machine-setting activities.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Strong knowledge of:
  • Garment construction
  • Fit analysis
  • Technical garment evaluation
• Experience working within:
  • Sample room operations
  • Pre-production environments
  • Apparel manufacturing processes
• Proficiency in:
  • Lectra
  • CorelDRAW
  • Adobe Illustrator
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage technical garment development activities under deadlines.
