Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in Textile Engineering, Apparel Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in fabric technology, fabric sourcing, or fabric merchandising within the apparel industry.
• Strong knowledge of sportswear fabrics, activewear fibres, fabric construction, dyeing, finishing, and garment manufacturing.
• Good understanding of fabric testing methods, quality standards, and sustainability practices.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and develop sportswear and activewear fabrics from local and international suppliers.
• Evaluate fabric construction, dyeing, finishing, performance, and quality.
• Coordinate fabric development, approvals, sampling, and bulk production.
• Negotiate fabric prices, lead times, minimum order quantities (MOQs), and supplier agreements.
• Monitor fabric inventory and ensure timely availability of raw materials.
• Work closely with Merchandising, Product Development, Planning, Production, and Quality Assurance teams.
• Review fabric test reports and ensure compliance with buyer requirements.
• Investigate fabric quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Build strong supplier relationships and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Stay updated on textile innovations, sustainable fabrics, and market trends.
