Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree or an acceptable equivalent qualification in a related field.
• An MBA will be considered an added advantage.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in credit risk management, credit review, or a related role within the banking or financial services industry.
• Strong understanding of credit risk principles, methodologies, and regulatory requirements, particularly within the Sri Lankan banking sector.
• Proficiency in analyzing financial statements and assessing credit risk metrics.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct periodic reviews of credit portfolios to assess the accuracy of risk ratings and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of credit risk measurement methodologies and recommend improvements aligned with industry best practices.
• Identify emerging risks and trends within the credit portfolio and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations on review findings, risk assessments, and recommendations for senior management and relevant committees.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Internal Audit, and other cross-functional teams to strengthen the bank’s risk oversight framework.
• Monitor regulatory developments and industry trends related to credit risk management and incorporate relevant changes into review processes.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Credit Risk function.
