Qualifications & Experience
Applicants should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or an acceptable equivalent qualification in a related field.
- An MBA will be considered an added advantage.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in credit risk management, credit review, or a related role within the banking or financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of credit risk principles, methodologies, and regulatory requirements, particularly within the Sri Lankan banking sector.
- Proficiency in analyzing financial statements and assessing credit risk metrics.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct periodic reviews of credit portfolios to assess the accuracy of risk ratings and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of credit risk measurement methodologies and recommend improvements aligned with industry best practices.
- Identify emerging risks and trends within the credit portfolio and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on review findings, risk assessments, and recommendations for senior management and relevant committees.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Internal Audit, and other cross-functional teams to strengthen the bank’s risk oversight framework.
- Monitor regulatory developments and industry trends related to credit risk management and incorporate relevant changes into review processes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Credit Risk function.
