Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should ideally possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Minimum of six (06) years of relevant experience in a bank or financial institution.
• Good Sinhala and English typing skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience with Court Registry procedures and court-related documentation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively while maintaining flexibility.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize urgent tasks and manage competing deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and public relations skills to maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
• Proactive attitude with a commitment to delivering timely and accurate work.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Legal Officers in litigation matters, court proceedings, document filing, and follow-up activities.
• Maintain court files, retrieve records, and coordinate legal documentation.
• Liaise with courts, Land Registries, Company Registries, and other external stakeholders.
• Coordinate postal and registry activities, including dispatching, tracking, and confirming delivery of legal correspondence.
• Type and proofread legal documents, including motions, plaints, objections, affidavits, proxies, and other court submissions.
• Prepare court filing documentation by organizing, photocopying, compiling, and maintaining legal records.
• File legal documents in court, monitor case progress, maintain court diaries, and follow up on summons, notices, and court payments.
• Conduct Land Registry searches and obtain certified copies, extracts, and other records required for legal proceedings.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of litigation support and legal documentation.
• Excellent Sinhala and English typing skills.
• Good knowledge of court registry procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
