Educational Qualifications

External Candidates

Applicants should possess:

• Passed G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination in six subjects with credit passes including:
  • Sinhala/Tamil
  • English
  • Mathematics

AND

• Diploma in Secretarial Practice conducted by:
  • Poly Technical Institute
  • NIBM
  • NAITA
  • Or an equivalent recognized institution

WITH

• Minimum ten (10) years experience in Secretarial Work

including at least:

• Five (05) years experience as:
  • Personal Assistant
  • Confidential Secretary

in:

• Government Departments
• Corporations
• Boards
• Reputed Mercantile Establishments

Additional Requirements

• Good command of written and spoken English
• Computer literacy is essential
• Fluency in reading, writing, and understanding Tamil language will be an added qualification

Internal Candidates

Applicants should possess:

• Qualifications required for external candidates

OR

• Minimum five (05) years satisfactory service in the post of:
  • Management Assistant Non-Technological (MA 1-2)

WITH

• Diploma in Secretarial Practice
• Good written and spoken English knowledge
• Computer literacy

Salary Scale

• JM 1-1
• Rs. 72,650 – 122,970

Current Salary as at 01.01.2026

• Approximately Rs. 65,633/-
• Government-approved allowances applicable

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 22 years
• Maximum age: 45 years
• Maximum age limit will not apply to internal candidates
