Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should possess:

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 in one of the following fields:
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Fitting
  • Millwright
  • Welding
  • Or a related technical field.
• Minimum 02 years of industrial experience as a:
  • Fitter
  • Welder/Fitter
  • Millwright
  • Or in a similar maintenance role.
• Experience in maintenance and repair of industrial plant machinery will be an added advantage.
• Basic welding, fabrication, and machining knowledge will be considered an added qualification.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and repair of plant machinery and equipment.
• Respond promptly to machine breakdowns and carry out corrective actions to minimize production downtime.
• Perform running repairs and maintenance activities while ensuring safe plant operations.
• Complete and maintain daily maintenance checklists, inspection records, and maintenance reports.
• Identify mechanical faults and recommend preventive and corrective maintenance solutions.
• Carry out fitting, alignment, assembly, and replacement of mechanical components.
• Assist with plant shutdown maintenance and equipment overhauls when required.
• Maintain proper housekeeping of maintenance tools, equipment, and work areas.
• Follow company safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and industrial safety standards.
• Work closely with production personnel to ensure smooth and uninterrupted plant operations.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance practices and fitting techniques.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical equipment faults.
• Good welding, fabrication, and machining skills.
• Strong commitment to industrial safety and safe work practices.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure during equipment breakdowns.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
