Selected candidates may be assigned to any VTA work station islandwide based on service requirements.

Salary Scale

As per Public Administration Circular No. 01/2025:

• Salary Scale: Rs. 50,540 – 10 x 540 – 7 x 630 – 4 x 1,080 – 20 x 1,280 – 90,270
• Salary Step from 01.01.2025: Rs. 46,960.00
• Government approved allowances applicable

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in construction and technical maintenance activities of the authority.
• Support infrastructure development and operational projects.
• Coordinate technical tasks related to building maintenance and construction work.
• Assist engineers, supervisors, and technical teams during project implementation.
• Maintain technical records, reports, and documentation.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of technical equipment and materials.
• Support institutional technical operations and field activities.

Required Qualifications

External Applicants

Applicants should possess:

• NVQ Level 5 qualification relevant to the post issued by a technical or vocational training institute recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC).

Additional Qualification

• Minimum 01 year of experience in the relevant field will be considered as an added advantage.

Internal Applicants

Applicants should possess:

• Qualifications required for external applicants.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 45 Years

The age limit does not apply to officers already employed in government or statutory institutions.

• Written competitive examination and/or

The final decision regarding recruitment will be made by the Chairman and Board of Directors of the Vocational Training Authority of Sri Lanka.
