Job Overview
The Sri Lanka Tea Board, under the Ministry of Plantation & Community Infrastructure, is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Tea Inspector / Instructor (Grade III). This role involves supporting regulatory, field supervision, and operational activities within the tea industry under the supervision of authorized officers.

Company Overview
The Sri Lanka Tea Board is the apex regulatory authority of the Sri Lankan tea industry. It is responsible for implementing industry regulations, supervising tea production activities, and supporting the development of tea factories, producers, and dealers while ensuring quality and compliance standards across the sector.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Passed G.C.E. A/L in three subjects in one sitting (Science stream preferred)
- Passed G.C.E. O/L in one sitting with at least 5 credit passes including Mathematics, Sinhala/Tamil, and English
- A two-year Diploma in Agriculture (NVQ Level 05 or above) from a TVEC-recognized institution
- Relevant experience will be an added advantage
Key Responsibilities
- Perform field-level inspection and regulatory support duties
- Assist in implementation of Tea Board regulations and standards
- Support development activities of tea producers and factories
- Monitor green leaf dealers, manufacturers, and processing units
- Assist senior officers in data collection and reporting
- Carry out non-technical administrative support functions in the field

- Basic knowledge of agriculture and tea industry operations

Salary & Benefits
- Government MA 2-1 salary scale
- Monthly gross salary approx. LKR 64,760

Selection Process
- Competitive examination and structured interview
- Minimum passing requirement: 40% per subject and 50% overall aggregate
