The Sri Lanka Tea Board is the apex regulatory and promotional authority of the tea industry in Sri Lanka. The organization is responsible for implementing tea promotion strategies, market development initiatives, and supporting the global positioning of Ceylon Tea in international markets.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants must satisfy one of the following external criteria:

Option 01

• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing / Commerce / Management / Business Administration (recognized by UGC)
• Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience in a relevant field (public or reputed private sector)

Option 02

• Full membership of the Institute of Chartered Marketing (CIM – UK)
• Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience in a relevant field

Internal Candidates

• Same qualifications as external candidates
  OR
• Minimum 5 years satisfactory service as Management Assistant Grade II (Non-Technical) in Sri Lanka Tea Board with Diploma or higher qualification in Marketing

Key Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze market profile information related to tea industry segments
• Study market trends, competitors, and performance indicators
• Support national and generic tea promotion campaigns
• Assist in developing marketing strategies for Ceylon Tea
• Provide data and insights for decision-making and promotional planning
• Support implementation of international marketing initiatives

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of marketing and market research
• Analytical and reporting skills
• Communication and presentation abilities
• Understanding of international trade or FMCG marketing (advantage)
• Ability to work with data and market insights
• Team coordination and planning skills
