Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should satisfy one of the following academic qualifications:

• B.Sc. Engineering Degree from a recognized University or Higher Education Institution specializing in Civil Engineering.
• B.Sc. Engineering Degree from a recognized University or Higher Education Institution specializing in Quantity Surveying.
• Equivalent recognized professional qualifications.

In addition, applicants must possess one of the following professional qualifications:

• Corporate Membership from a recognized Engineering Institute.
• Corporate Membership from a recognized Institute of Quantity Surveying.

Applicants must also have:

• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in construction projects, including contract administration and project management.

Selection will be based on a Structured Interview.

Applicants who obtain 40% or above at the structured interview will be eligible for consideration for appointment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage university construction and infrastructure development projects.
• Supervise project planning, execution, and completion.
• Administer construction contracts and monitor contractor performance.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and university stakeholders.
• Ensure projects comply with engineering standards, regulations, and quality requirements.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, and progress.
• Prepare project reports and provide technical recommendations.

Required Skills

• Strong project management and leadership skills.
• Sound knowledge of civil engineering or quantity surveying practices.
• Contract administration and procurement knowledge.
• Budgeting and project cost management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple construction activities effectively.
• Knowledge of construction regulations and industry standards.

Salary & Benefits

Salary Scale

• U-EX I (II)
• Rs. 85,305 – 3×2,020 – 91,365 (EB) 93,765 – 12×2,400 – 122,565 per month (as at 01.01.2025)

Additional Benefits:

• Government approved allowances applicable to the University System.
• Other benefits approved by the University Grants Commission.
• Appointment will be governed by the Universities Act No. 16 of 1978 and subsequent amendments, ordinances, regulations, rules, and other applicable provisions.
