Educational Qualifications

Applicants must have passed the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination in six (06) subjects, including:

• Medium Language
• Mathematics

These subjects must have been passed in not more than two sittings.

Candidates who complete the qualification in two sittings must have passed at least five subjects at the first sitting.

Professional Qualifications

For many of the technical posts from (a) to (p), as well as Stage Lighting Technician, applicants should satisfy one of the specified professional qualification routes, including:

• NVQ Level 03 certificate in the relevant field from a Government or Government-recognized institution; or
• Relevant technical/vocational training of at least six months from a recognized institution; or
• A minimum of three years of professional experience.

Different qualification requirements apply to certain specialized posts such as Antenna Installer, Body Building Instructor, Dozer Technician, Swimming Instructor, Fitter, Make-up Artist, Fitness Instructor and Audio Technician.

Make-up Artist

Applicants should have completed a diploma course in Makeup and Theatrical Make-up Art and possess at least one year of relevant experience, supported by certificates.

Fitness Instructor

Applicants should have completed a recognized Fitness Instructor course or Diploma in Sports.

Audio Technician

Applicants should possess a recognized qualification in sound engineering, together with the required experience. Knowledge of music is considered an additional qualification.

Experience Requirements

Experience requirements depend on the specific vacancy.

For posts (a) to (p), candidates who possess relevant professional qualifications should generally have at least six months of relevant experience.

Candidates without the specified professional qualifications should generally possess at least three years of professional experience.

Certain specialized positions have separate experience requirements. For example:

• Body Building Instructor – 2 years’ experience
• Swimming Instructor – 2 years’ professional experience
• Stage Lighting Technician – 1 year of experience and proficiency
• Fitness Instructor – 2 years’ professional experience

Physical Requirements

Both married and unmarried male/female candidates can apply where the respective position permits.

Minimum height requirements are:

• Male: Not less than 5 feet 2 inches
• Female: Not less than 5 feet

The Inspector General of Police may allow deviations from these height requirements for applicants possessing special qualifications and competencies.

Age Limit

Applicants must be between 18 and 32 years of age as at the closing date of applications specified in the Gazette notification.
