Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

• Passed the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination with six (06) subjects, including Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.
• Possess a certificate relevant to Pattern Making issued by a Government Institute or a Vocational Training Institute recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC), or hold an NVQ Level 3 qualification relevant to the trade.
• Minimum of three (03) years of relevant work experience in a Government institution or a recognized private organization.
• Applicants should be between 18 and 45 years of age. (The age limit does not apply to applicants currently serving in Government service.)
• Must successfully pass both the interview and practical test relevant to the post.
• Should be physically and mentally fit to perform duties anywhere in Sri Lanka.
• Must possess excellent character.
• Should satisfy the required medical examination if requested.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, construct, and repair patterns used for metal casting and fabrication.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Measure, mark, cut, and shape pattern materials with precision.
• Inspect and maintain patterns to ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Modify existing patterns based on engineering requirements.
• Operate pattern-making tools and workshop machinery safely.
• Maintain quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
• Assist engineering and maintenance teams with fabrication projects.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of pattern making and fabrication techniques.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical plans.
• Excellent measuring and precision workmanship skills.
• Experience using woodworking or metalworking tools and equipment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Salary & Benefits

• Salary Code: 10.3 (SS3)
• Initial Salary Step: Rs. 35,845/=
• Annual Increment: Rs. 365/=
• Approximate Monthly Gross Salary: Rs. 111,000/=
