Qualifications & Experience

• MBBS or an equivalent medical qualification registrable with the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC).
• Valid registration with the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) is mandatory.
• Previous clinical experience in a hospital environment will be an added advantage.
• Willingness to work in Intensive Care Units (ICUs) and hospital wards.
• Ability to work on roster, shift, night duty, weekends, and public holidays as required.
• Good clinical knowledge and sound decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Responsible, disciplined, and patient-focused approach to work.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional medical care to patients admitted to hospital wards and ICUs.
• Attend to patient complaints, emergencies, and routine clinical requirements.
• Monitor patient progress and update consultants regarding patient conditions.
• Assist consultants during ward rounds and implement medical instructions accurately.
• Coordinate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
• Maintain accurate patient records, clinical notes, investigation reports, and treatment plans.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations within the hospital.
• Ensure patient safety, confidentiality, and ethical medical practice at all times.
• Support hospital policies, infection control practices, and clinical quality standards.
