Qualifications & Experience
- MBBS or an equivalent medical qualification registrable with the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC).
- Valid registration with the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) is mandatory.
- Previous clinical experience in a hospital environment will be an added advantage.
- Willingness to work in Intensive Care Units (ICUs) and hospital wards.
- Ability to work on roster, shift, night duty, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Good clinical knowledge and sound decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Responsible, disciplined, and patient-focused approach to work.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional medical care to patients admitted to hospital wards and ICUs.
- Attend to patient complaints, emergencies, and routine clinical requirements.
- Monitor patient progress and update consultants regarding patient conditions.
- Assist consultants during ward rounds and implement medical instructions accurately.
- Coordinate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
- Maintain accurate patient records, clinical notes, investigation reports, and treatment plans.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations within the hospital.
- Ensure patient safety, confidentiality, and ethical medical practice at all times.
- Support hospital policies, infection control practices, and clinical quality standards.
