Job Overview

Qualifications & Requirements
- MBBS degree from a recognized university.
- Registration with the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) with a valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC).
- Completed compulsory internship.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in ETU/OPD or Emergency Medicine.
- Good clinical knowledge and ability to manage patients in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under pressure.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with the Hospital Information System (HIS) will be an added advantage.
- Neat appearance, positive attitude and commitment to patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide efficient and effective medical care to patients in the ETU/OPD.
- Assess, diagnose and manage patients and stabilize emergencies.
- Order and interpret investigations and review treatment plans.
- Refer or admit patients to appropriate departments when necessary.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation in the Hospital Information System (HIS).
- Work closely with nursing staff, consultants and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide health education and counselling to patients and families.
- Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, infection-control procedures and patient-safety standards.
- Participate in quality-improvement activities and clinical audits.
