Qualifications & Requirements

• MBBS degree from a recognized university.
• Registration with the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) with a valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC).
• Completed compulsory internship.
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in ETU/OPD or Emergency Medicine.
• Good clinical knowledge and ability to manage patients in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under pressure.
• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with the Hospital Information System (HIS) will be an added advantage.
• Neat appearance, positive attitude and commitment to patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide efficient and effective medical care to patients in the ETU/OPD.
• Assess, diagnose and manage patients and stabilize emergencies.
• Order and interpret investigations and review treatment plans.
• Refer or admit patients to appropriate departments when necessary.
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation in the Hospital Information System (HIS).
• Work closely with nursing staff, consultants and other healthcare professionals.
• Provide health education and counselling to patients and families.
• Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, infection-control procedures and patient-safety standards.
• Participate in quality-improvement activities and clinical audits.
