The company is currently seeking an experienced and technically skilled professional for the position of Manager – Solar Engineering to lead solar energy projects and regulatory coordination activities.

Manager – Solar Engineering

Job Description

The selected candidate will be responsible for managing solar PV and renewable energy projects while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and utility coordination requirements. The role requires extensive technical expertise in solar engineering, project management, SEASL licensing procedures, and CEB/LECO utility coordination for rooftop and large-scale solar installations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage solar PV and renewable energy engineering projects.
• Coordinate SEASL licensing submissions, approvals, and compliance documentation.
• Handle type approval processes for solar panels and inverters with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Sri Lanka (SEASL).
• Manage CEB and LECO Net Metering, Net Accounting, and Net Plus approval procedures.
• Coordinate utility clearances, estimates, and technical approvals for rooftop and bulk solar projects.
• Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of engineering activities.
• Support technical evaluations, regulatory compliance, and renewable energy documentation.
• Supervise engineering teams and coordinate with stakeholders, vendors, and utility authorities.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in:
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Renewable Energy Engineering
• Degree should be from a UGC-recognized university in Sri Lanka or an equivalent foreign qualification.
• Associate Membership of IESL will be considered an added advantage.
• Postgraduate qualification in:
  • Renewable Energy
  • Engineering Management
  • Project Management
  • Related field
• Valid SEASL-recognized technical competency or previous involvement in SEASL licensing procedures will be advantageous.
• Minimum 8–10 years of post-qualification experience in:
  • Solar PV sector
  • Renewable energy engineering
  • Electrical engineering projects
• Minimum 3–5 years of managerial or senior supervisory experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • SEASL annual license renewals
  • Compliance documentation
  • CEB/LECO utility coordination
  • Solar project approvals and implementation

Preferred Skills

• Strong leadership and project coordination abilities
• Excellent technical problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of renewable energy regulations in Sri Lanka
• Ability to manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
