Job Description
The selected candidate will be responsible for planning and executing public relations strategies to enhance the hospital’s brand image and public engagement. The role requires strong communication skills, media coordination abilities, and experience in corporate communications and digital media management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement public relations strategies to enhance the hospital’s reputation and brand image.
- Handle media relations and act as the organizational spokesperson when required.
- Draft and distribute press releases, media statements, newsletters, and communication materials.
- Organize and coordinate press conferences, media briefings, and public events.
- Maintain strong relationships with media representatives, stakeholders, and community organizations.
- Monitor media coverage and manage public feedback professionally.
- Support internal communications initiatives and staff engagement activities.
- Manage the hospital’s social media presence in coordination with the marketing team.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Public Relations
- Communications
- Journalism
- Related field
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in:
- Public Relations
- Corporate Communications
- Similar communication-related roles
- Previous healthcare industry experience will be considered an added advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Sinhala and Tamil will be an added advantage.
- Strong media relations and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to think creatively and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
- Proficiency in digital platforms and social media management.
- Strong organizational and event management skills.
