The Political-Economic Office supports diplomatic operations and coordination activities while maintaining strict compliance and security standards.
Job Description
The Leahy Vetting Coordinator will manage and coordinate Leahy vetting processes related to military and police training candidates while supporting office administration and diplomatic coordination activities within the Political-Economic Section.
The role includes maintaining records, coordinating with agencies in Washington, managing communication channels, assisting with official correspondence, and supporting logistical arrangements for Embassy operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Leahy vetting procedures for military and police training candidates
- Maintain and update the Leahy Log and worldwide Leahy database
- Coordinate Leahy procedures with State agencies in Washington
- Collect and manage information from various agencies while maintaining strict record-keeping standards
- Provide training to Embassy staff regarding Leahy vetting procedures
- Manage office calendars and administrative coordination activities
- Review incoming correspondence, cables, and official documents
- Assist with preparation of diplomatic notes, outgoing cables, and official communications
- Coordinate travel arrangements, appointments, and logistics for officials and visitors
- Maintain office files and documentation systems
- Handle customer service inquiries and procurement coordination activities
- Provide backup administrative support to Front Office operations when required
Required Qualifications and Skills
Educational Qualifications
- Completion of two years of University or College studies is required
Work Experience
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in an office or administrative role
Language Requirements
- Fluent English speaking and writing ability, including translation skills

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidential records and sensitive information

Security Clearance
Selected candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance and successfully complete a background investigation.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary Range: USD 43,543 – USD 63,944 per year
- Work Schedule: Full-time – 40 hours per week
