Job Overview
Browns Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Hybrid & Electric Vehicle Technician to join its automotive team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining hybrid and electric vehicles, with a strong focus on high-voltage systems, electric powertrains and advanced automotive electrical systems.

Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3 years of proven hands-on experience as an Automotive Technician.
- Practical experience with Hybrid and Electric Vehicle powertrains or advanced automotive electrical systems is highly preferred.
- Strong conventional automotive technicians with solid HEV/EV knowledge are also encouraged to apply.
- Full-time Automotive Technician or Automobile Engineering Certificate from a recognized technical training institute such as CGTTI, NAITA, VTA or an equivalent institution.
- Sound understanding of CAN Bus systems and ECU modules.
- Knowledge of battery charging faults and high-voltage safety standards.
- Practical knowledge of automotive electrical and electronic systems.
- Customer handling and negotiation skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate diagnosis, inspection and systematic troubleshooting of Hybrid and Electric vehicles using professional diagnostic equipment and scan tools.
- Repair and maintain high-voltage batteries, inverters, converters, electric motors, charging systems, ECUs and vehicle communication networks such as CAN Bus.
- Interpret wiring diagrams to service conventional engine and transmission systems, automotive air-conditioning systems and electrical actuators.
- Diagnose and resolve faults in advanced automotive electrical and electronic systems.
- Follow manufacturer procedures and technical standards when carrying out repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain a safety-conscious working environment when handling high-voltage vehicle systems.
- Isolate and de-energize high-voltage lines using appropriate personal protective equipment and safety procedures.
- Conduct inspections and ensure vehicles are repaired and maintained to required technical standards.
- Support effective diagnosis and resolution of complex vehicle problems.
- Interact professionally with customers and provide appropriate technical support when required.
Required Skills
- Strong automotive diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Practical knowledge of Hybrid and Electric Vehicle systems.
- Knowledge of high-voltage batteries, inverters, converters and electric motors.
- Understanding of CAN Bus communication systems and ECU modules.
- Ability to read and interpret automotive wiring diagrams.
- Knowledge of automotive electrical and electronic systems.
- Understanding of high-voltage safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Ability to use professional vehicle diagnostic equipment and scan tools.
- Strong attention to detail and systematic approach to fault diagnosis.
- Good customer handling and negotiation skills.
- Ability to follow manufacturer procedures and technical instructions.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.

Important Notes
