Seylan Bank PLC is seeking experienced and analytical professionals for the position of Executive Officer / Senior Executive – Credit Analyst for its SME Hubs located in Negombo and Anuradhapura. This role offers an excellent opportunity for banking and finance professionals to contribute to credit evaluation, risk management, and SME portfolio growth within one of Sri Lanka’s leading private banks.

The successful candidate will be responsible for appraising SME credit proposals, conducting business and property inspections, managing credit facilities, and supporting the Bank’s credit risk management processes.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 6–7 years of experience in banking, finance, or a related field.
• At least 3–4 years of experience as a Credit Analyst or in a similar role.
• Full or part professional qualification in Banking or Finance from a recognized professional body.
• Degree or professional qualification in Management will be an added advantage.
• Experience in credit appraisal, credit risk assessment, and SME lending.
• Strong knowledge of banking operations and credit management practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Appraise SME credit proposals submitted by branches within stipulated turnaround times.
• Conduct business inspections and property visits jointly with SME Relationship Officers.
• Coordinate with branch SME Relationship Officers and clients to obtain information required for credit proposals.
• Liaise with Area Offices and Seylan Head Office to track proposal status and expedite approvals.
• Initiate title verification and property valuation processes.
• Coordinate with legal agencies to obtain title verification and valuation reports.
• Conduct periodic reviews of performing credit facilities.
• Prepare Term Extension Facilities (TEFs) for temporary requests.
• Restructure and reschedule performing credit facilities when necessary.
• Collaborate with branches to ensure settlement of excess and temporary facilities on due dates.
• Monitor Non-Performing Asset (NPA) facilities and follow up on recoveries and settlements.
