Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should meet the following qualifications:

External Applicants

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
• Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL) or an equivalent recognized professional qualification in the relevant field.

Internal Applicants

Applicants should satisfy one of the following:

• Fulfil all qualifications required for external applicants.

OR

• Have completed a satisfactory service period of five (05) years in the Junior Management Services Category (JM 1-1) position relevant to the subject field.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and monitor housing construction projects.
• Prepare engineering designs, technical specifications, and project documentation.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure quality construction standards.
• Supervise contractors, consultants, and project teams.
• Monitor project progress, budgets, and construction schedules.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, building regulations, and safety requirements.
• Prepare technical reports, progress reports, and project evaluations.
• Coordinate with architects, quantity surveyors, and other engineering professionals.
• Resolve technical issues arising during construction activities.
• Perform other engineering duties assigned by the Authority.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and construction practices.
• Project planning and site management skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of engineering standards and government regulations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to prepare technical reports and engineering documentation.
