The Tower Hall Theatre Foundation is a government institution operating under the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs. The Foundation is dedicated to preserving and promoting Sri Lankan drama, theatre, performing arts, and cultural heritage while supporting artistes and organizing cultural programmes throughout the country.

Qualifications & Experience

External Applicants

• Degree in Drama, Theatre, Education, Aesthetics, Arts, Mass Communication, or a related field from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
• Minimum one (01) year of relevant experience in a government, semi-government, or reputed private sector institution.
• Ability to use computers and work in English.
• Experience in planning, organizing, coordinating, and managing drama and arts promotion programmes and cultural events.
• Experience in script writing and directing drama and performing arts programmes.
• Experience in programme direction in government or private electronic media channels will be an added advantage.
• Ability to work in Tamil will be considered a special qualification.

Internal Applicants

• Must satisfy the qualifications required for external applicants.

OR

• Completion of at least five (05) years of satisfactory service in a Junior Managerial (JM) service category post in the relevant field.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, coordinate, and manage drama promotion programmes and cultural projects.
• Support artiste welfare initiatives and programme implementation.
• Develop and supervise theatre and performing arts activities.
• Prepare and direct drama productions and cultural performances.
• Coordinate with government institutions, media organizations, and cultural stakeholders.
• Contribute to the promotion and preservation of Sri Lankan performing arts.
• Perform administrative and programme management duties related to the Foundation’s activities.

Salary & Benefits

• Salary Scale: Rs. 91,690 – 10 × 2,480 – 15 × 3,450 – 168,240.
• Cost of Living Allowance as approved by the Government.
• Professional Allowance as applicable.
• Telephone allowance in accordance with Government circulars.
• Permanent appointment with Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) and Employees’ Trust Fund (ETF) benefits.
