Qualifications & Experience
- G.C.E. Advanced Level qualification in any stream.
- Certificate or Diploma in Phlebotomy, Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field will be an added advantage.
- 0–2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare setting will be preferable.
- Good knowledge of blood collection procedures.
- Knowledge of infection control and patient safety practices.
- Good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work accurately and responsibly.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling patient information.
- Ability to interact professionally and courteously with patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect blood samples from patients accurately and safely according to standard procedures.
- Verify patient identity and ensure correct documentation before sample collection.
- Label, handle and transport specimens correctly to the relevant laboratory sections.
- Maintain cleanliness, infection control and safety standards in the work area.
- Provide reassurance and clear instructions to patients during blood sample collection.
- Ensure proper handling and identification of collected specimens.
- Coordinate with nurses, doctors and laboratory staff regarding specimen requirements.
- Maintain accurate records related to blood collection and specimen handling.
- Report any specimen-related issues or discrepancies to the relevant laboratory staff.
- Perform related administrative and laboratory support duties as assigned.

- Good knowledge of blood collection and phlebotomy procedures.
