Qualifications & Experience

• G.C.E. Advanced Level qualification in the Bio Science stream.
• Diploma or Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field.
• Valid SLMC registration will be an added advantage.
• 0–2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Previous experience in a hospital laboratory will be preferable.
• Good knowledge of laboratory procedures, safety standards and quality practices.
• Ability to work accurately and responsibly.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and laboratory information.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory tests accurately and efficiently.
• Prepare, label and handle patient samples according to established procedures.
• Maintain laboratory records, reports and documentation properly.
• Operate and assist in maintaining laboratory equipment.
• Follow infection-control, safety and quality-assurance guidelines.
• Ensure samples are handled, processed and stored appropriately.
• Coordinate with doctors, nurses and other departments regarding test-related matters.
• Maintain accurate records of laboratory investigations and results.
• Support the smooth and efficient operation of the laboratory.
• Assist with other laboratory duties assigned by the supervisor.
