Company Overview

The Kithul Development Board is a government institution operating under the Ministry of Plantation and Community Infrastructure. The Board is responsible for promoting, regulating, and developing Sri Lanka’s Kithul industry through research, innovation, industry support, and sustainable resource management. It plays a vital role in strengthening the country’s plantation sector while creating economic opportunities for rural communities.

Qualifications & Experience

External Applicants

Applicants should possess one of the following qualification pathways:

Option 1

• A First Degree recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in Science (relevant field), Agriculture, Business Administration, Management, or Finance.

AND

• A Postgraduate Master’s Degree in the relevant field or Associate Membership of a recognized Chartered Professional Institute of Management.

AND

• A minimum of 20 years of managerial experience in a State Corporation, Statutory Board, or recognized private sector organization after obtaining the degree, including at least 05 years at Senior Management level.

OR

Option 2

• A First Degree recognized by the UGC in Science (relevant field), Agriculture, Business Administration, Management, or Finance.

AND

• A Ph.D. in the relevant field.

AND

• At least 05 years of outstanding experience at Senior Management level in a State Corporation, Statutory Board, or recognized private sector organization after obtaining the Ph.D.

Internal Applicants

• Minimum of 05 years of satisfactory service within the Senior Management category of the Kithul Development Board in the relevant field.
• Proven leadership capability in managing multidisciplinary teams and organizational resources efficiently.

Age Requirements

• Minimum Age: 35 years
• Maximum Age: 55 years
• The upper age limit is not applicable to internal applicants.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and overall management of the Kithul Development Board.
• Develop and implement organizational policies, plans, and development strategies.
• Lead financial, administrative, and operational functions of the Board.
• Manage human resources and organizational performance.
• Coordinate with government ministries, stakeholders, and industry partners.
• Promote research, innovation, and sustainable development within the Kithul industry.
• Ensure compliance with government regulations and corporate governance standards.
• Represent the Board at national and institutional meetings.
