Position

Plumber (Water Pump Operator) (PL 3) – Bureau of Rehabilitation.

Main Purpose of the Post

The Plumber (Water Pump Operator) is responsible for installing, operating, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems, water supply networks, water pumps, pipelines, valves, fittings, and related equipment within institutions managed by the Bureau of Rehabilitation. The position ensures an uninterrupted water supply, proper maintenance of plumbing facilities, and compliance with safety and operational standards.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair water supply and plumbing systems.
• Operate and monitor water pumps and pumping equipment.
• Inspect pipelines, valves, tanks, fittings, and plumbing accessories.
• Detect leaks and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Maintain records of maintenance and repair work.
• Ensure safe operation of pumping equipment and plumbing installations.
• Respond promptly to plumbing and water supply emergencies.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and workplace safety.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Bureau of Rehabilitation.

Salary Scale

PL 3 – 2016 Salary Scale

• Rs. 26,290 – 39,490

Current salary by grade:

• Grade III: Rs. 26,290
• Grade II: Rs. 29,290
• Grade I: Rs. 32,320

Educational Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

• A National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 4 or an equivalent recognized qualification in Plumbing/Water Pump Operation or a related trade.
• Completion of the prescribed trade training recognized by the Government.
• Good physical fitness and suitability for technical field work.
• Any additional qualifications specified under the approved Scheme of Recruitment.
