Company Overview

The Ehelepola Walawwa Special Project is a landmark cultural initiative located in Kandy. The project features a wax museum depicting the history of the ancient Kingdom of Kandy together with the Prison Arcade, a commercial complex consisting of 40 retail outlets. The Curator will be responsible for preserving the museum’s historical value while ensuring an engaging visitor experience.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should possess one of the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher qualification in Administration and Management.

OR

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher qualification in Tourism and Hospitality.

OR

• Degree or higher qualification in Museology, Archaeology, History, or a related field.

Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience in museum services.

General Requirements

• Age between 35 and 60 years.
• Good physical and mental fitness.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in Sinhala and English.
• Proficiency in additional languages will be considered an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the management and preservation of museum collections and exhibits.
• Develop and maintain historical displays and educational content.
• Ensure the proper documentation and conservation of museum artifacts.
• Coordinate exhibitions, heritage programs, and visitor engagement activities.
• Supervise museum operations and maintain exhibition standards.
• Work closely with project management to enhance visitor experiences.
• Promote awareness of the cultural and historical significance of the museum.
