Qualifications & Experience

External Candidates

Applicants should possess one of the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Finance, or Commerce from a University recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

OR

• Intermediate Level qualification of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka/ICASL).

OR

• Intermediate Level qualification of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

OR

• Intermediate Level qualification of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

AND

• Minimum of 03 years’ experience in Financial Management in a Regional Plantation Company, Government Department, Corporation, Board, or a reputed Mercantile Establishment.

Internal Candidates

• Minimum of 05 years’ experience as a Finance Officer or Internal Audit Officer in the Junior Manager Category Grade I.

Age Requirements

• Minimum Age: 25 years
• Maximum Age: 45 years
• The upper age limit is not applicable to internal candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
• Prepare financial statements and management reports.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls.
• Monitor organizational financial performance and recommend improvements.
• Manage cash flow, financial risk, and budget utilization.
• Coordinate internal and external audits.
• Provide strategic financial advice to the management team.
• Supervise finance department staff and daily financial operations.

Required Skills

• Strong financial management and accounting knowledge.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in budgeting, auditing, and financial reporting.
• Leadership and team management abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of integrity and professionalism.
• Computer literacy, including accounting and Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of the Tamil language will be considered an added qualification.

Salary & Benefits

• Employment Type: Permanent
• Salary Scale: MM 1-1 (Department of Management Services Circular No. 01/2025)
• Salary Scale Range: LKR 91,690 – 168,240
• Basic Salary (Effective from 01.01.2026): LKR 81,710
• Government-approved salary revisions and applicable benefits.
