Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 8–10 years of experience in credit evaluation, preferably in the banking or financial services sector.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline. Equivalent qualifications will also be considered.
• Experience in credit evaluation, credit administration, and risk management within the financial sector.
• Strong knowledge of government regulations, finance and leasing laws, and credit recovery legislation.
• MBA qualification will be an added advantage.
• Proven expertise in credit evaluation, portfolio risk management, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to analyze complex credit proposals and provide sound recommendations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and provide strategic direction for the company’s credit approval and development functions while ensuring compliance with approved credit policies and procedures.
• Perform credit verification for files submitted by branches and provide recommendations and approvals within delegated authority.
• Verify, evaluate, structure, and prepare comprehensive credit proposals for submission to approving authorities.
• Support credit assessment and risk evaluation processes to maintain a high-quality lending portfolio.
• Prepare timely reports and presentations for Credit Committee reviews and approvals.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and applicable laws.
• Assist in reviewing and updating credit policies, procedures, and risk assessment tools while recommending corrective actions when required.
• Coordinate with the MIS team on post-credit evaluations, post-disbursement verifications, and loan reviews.
• Prepare reports on portfolio performance and emerging risks.
• Collaborate closely with branch teams and approving authorities to facilitate efficient credit approvals.
• Contribute to achieving lending objectives and ensuring the effective operation of the Credit Department.
