Qualifications & Experience

Essential Qualifications

• MBBS Degree from a recognized institution.
• Preference will be given to candidates who have obtained:
  • MD Degree with Board Certification in Health Informatics.

Applicants must meet the qualification requirements applicable to the respective academic grade as stipulated by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and University of Colombo recruitment regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct teaching and training activities in Medical Education.
• Contribute to curriculum development and academic program enhancement.
• Participate in research, scholarly activities, and academic publications.
• Support postgraduate medical education and professional training programs.
• Engage in student mentoring and academic supervision.
• Contribute to institutional development and quality assurance initiatives.
• Participate in academic administration and committee work as required.

Salary & Benefits

Salary Scales

Senior Lecturer Grade I

• Rs. 160,520 – 7 x 3,900 – 187,820 per month

Senior Lecturer Grade II

• Rs. 138,980 – 11 x 2,940 – 171,320 per month

Lecturer (Unconfirmed)

• Rs. 121,340 – 5 x 2,940 – 136,040 per month

Lecturer (Probationary)

• Rs. 94,400 – 10 x 2,400 – 118,400 per month

In addition to the above salary, Cost-of-Living Allowance and other government-approved allowances will be paid.

Benefits

• Eligibility for sabbatical leave upon completion of seven years of service:
  • One year with full pay, or
  • Two years without pay.
• Staff proceeding abroad on sabbatical leave are entitled to full passage for themselves and their spouse.
• Additional benefits applicable under University Grants Commission regulations and University policies.
