Qualifications & Experience
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
Educational Qualifications
- Passed G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination in six (06) subjects (excluding optional subjects) with at least three (03) Credit passes, including English Language.
AND
- Passed G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination in two (02) main subjects (excluding General English and General Knowledge) in the same sitting.
AND
- Completed a minimum six (06) months Diploma or Certificate Course in Secretarial Practice (English Medium) from a recognized institution registered with the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC).
Experience
- Previous experience as a Personal Assistant, Secretarial Assistant, or Secretary in a reputed institution or banking/financial sector organization will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and secretarial support.
- Manage correspondence and documentation.
- Prepare reports, letters, and official documents.
- Maintain records and filing systems.
- Coordinate meetings, schedules, and appointments.
- Assist management in day-to-day administrative activities.
- Handle confidential information professionally.
- Support efficient office operations.
Required Skills
- English typing speed of 20 words per minute (w.p.m.).
- Sinhala or Tamil typing certification will be an added advantage.
- Good written and spoken communication skills in English and Sinhala/Tamil.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Pleasant personality and professional attitude.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Age Limit
- Applicants should be 28 years or below as of the application closing date.
Salary & Benefits
Training Period
The training period will be two (02) years.
Monthly Allowance
- 1st Year: Rs. 45,000 per month
- 2nd Year: Rs. 60,000 per month
Career Progression
Candidates who successfully complete the training period and satisfy the Bank’s requirements may be confirmed to the permanent cadre as:

Terms & Conditions
- Subject to the general Terms and Conditions of the Bank’s Service.
- Required to work beyond normal working hours, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
- Must be willing to serve in any part of Sri Lanka according to the Bank’s requirements.
- Selection will be based on merit and performance throughout the recruitment process.
Selection Procedure
Competitive Examination
Applicants will be required to sit for:
Paper I
Speed Test on Computer Typing in English (20 w.p.m.)
Paper II
English Language Examination
Only candidates who successfully pass the typing test will be invited for the English Language examination.
Interview
Candidates shortlisted based on examination performance will be called for an interview.
Final selection will be made based on interview performance and overall merit.
