Job Overview
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is seeking applications from highly qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Senior Manager – Umpire Development. The selected candidate will play a key leadership role in planning, developing, and implementing umpire education, performance management, and career pathway programmes to ensure the highest standards of cricket officiating across Sri Lanka. Qualifications & Experience
- A recognized qualification in Sports Management, Education, or a related field
- Extensive experience in cricket officiating, umpire development, or cricket administration
- Sound knowledge of the Laws of Cricket and ICC playing conditions
- Experience in training, assessing, or managing umpires at domestic or international level
- Proven leadership and programme management experience
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders across the cricket community
- Experience in implementing development frameworks and succession planning initiatives
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement national umpire development strategies in line with Sri Lanka Cricket and ICC guidelines
- Manage umpire education programmes, workshops, seminars, and certification processes
- Formulate playing conditions and codes of conduct for domestic and international tournaments in accordance with ICC regulations
- Establish structured development pathways for umpires and match referees, including succession planning frameworks
- Conduct examinations and assessments for umpires and match referees as required
- Coordinate umpire and match referee appointments in consultation with relevant committees and cricket management personnel
- Serve as the primary liaison between ACC, ICC, and Sri Lanka Cricket regarding officiating requirements and tournament matters
- Monitor and evaluate umpire performance across domestic and international matches
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date databases of umpires, assessors, and appointments
- Ensure compliance with Sri Lanka Cricket policies, ICC regulations, and international best practices
